Nashville… and the Midstate Mills Biscuit Bash

Last weekend I made the trek to Nashville for Food Blog Forum.  Luckily, I got to carpool with Brandi, who never asked me once to drive, and even let me keep the two winning French fry game cards from our McDonalds breakfast. Isn’t she sweet?

Yeah, she is.

After a 6 hour drive and the discovery that there is both a 12th Avenue AND a 12th Street in Nashville, we pulled up to our fabulous condo, located in The Gulch, and area of Nashville that has undergone a massive transformation.  It’s now a bustling hot-spot for the trendy urbanites, and our building – called The ICON – was absolutely wonderful.

I rented our 2 bed/2 bath swanky condo on VRBO, from the sweetest landlord.  She wasn’t kidding when she said it had everything!  2 pools, a weight room, a concierge.  Our apartment was so sophisticated and smart, we really couldn’t believe it!

Brandi and I shared one of the bedrooms, and our friends Paula and Chris shared the other.  it was great to see everyone again and get to hang out!  Chris even brought all of us mini cast iron skillets from a random stop at Lodge – and I can’t wait to use them!

After a meet and greet welcome party at the Nashville Farmer’s Market, we headed back to the condo and prepared for the Biscuit Bash, courtesy of Midstate Mills.  We went carb heavy that night – and it seemed to be appreciated based on the clean plates at the end of the evening!  We served up drop biscuits made from Southern Biscuit Formula L (I’ve already told you how much I love this stuff!), gravy made with Johnsonville Sweet Sausage, some fruit for good measure, and a giant pan of Annie’s Homegrown Mac & Cheese. Julie from The Little Kitchen shared her Candy Corn M&M Blondies with us as well…we all went to bed fat and happy!

Our sponsors were kind enough to send us all away with parting gifts, like flour, pancake mixes, breading, biscuit towels, videos, sausage coupons, and more!  We even got to give away a 5 Quart Stand Mixer from KitchenAid!  Our lucky winner was Jessica…I know she’ll enjoy it!

I really enjoyed being able to throw the Biscuit Bash, and especially enjoyed getting to meet new bloggers as well as catch up with blogging friends I have met before.  Thanks everyone for coming – I hope you had a great time!
