What’s Your Salad’tude? {And a Giveaway!}

in salad, Sponsored, Sponsored Giveaways

I have one.

A Salad’tude, that is.

(I have an attitude as well, but we won’t dwell on that.  And,  in the off chance you are reading this – Blogger Who Called Said “My You Have a Dry Sense Of Humor” To Me In Florida – please pipe up and say it was you.  For the life of me I can’t remember who said it, you caught me so off guard.)

Anywho.  Salad’Tude.  It’s a Dole concept, and it’s a great one.  What do you put in YOUR salad?

As you may know, since I’ve gone on and on about it for weeks – I currently do NOT have a stove/oven in my home.  At all.  This has resulted in a couple of things.  One- I don’t cook.  How can I? I’ve nearly worn the poor countertop oven out, and the microwave can really only do so much.  And Two- I’m down 9 pounds.  Don’t ask me that again tomorrow, as the amount of Peeps I’ve consumed today alone is enough to warrant a trip to rehab.

But, that being said, I’ve still had to eat, as well as keep my family fed.  So I’ve had to be a little inventive.  That’s where Dole comes in to play.  If you’ve not taken a look in the salad section of your grocery store lately, you should.  Dole has really been imagelistening to the consumer and coming out with blends and mixes that seriously make life easier.  You can buy any of over a dozen varieties these days, even in my small town.  I love the Southwest Salad Kit that includes  Cheddar tortilla strips, sharp white Cheddar cheese,  sour cream, and  iceberg and romaine lettuces. It also includes a Taco Ranch Dressing, made exclusively for Dole.   You can make a meal out of it as is, but in case you have a bunch of carnivores amongst you, fear not.  You can grill up some steak or chicken and slice up some avocados to toss in and make it a true meal.  I’ve sent this with Jon’s lunch on more than one occasion.

imageI am also LOVING the Extra Veggies Blends.  I am a bargain shopper (hence, the Instagram proof), therefore fresh produce can really cut in to my savings.  Everyone knows it’s all about the bottom line when it comes to the coupon game.  So, buying two kinds of lettuce, carrots, and other veggies such as tomatoes or snap peas puts a true dent in the pocketbook.  (And likely, much of that produce will go bad if you are like me and don’t get around to using it all.)  With the Dole Blends, you get a nice variety of ingredients, plus the addition of the peas or tomatoes. Huge time and money saver!  How cool is that?
