Sprucing Up the Backyard with Lowes {and a Giveaway!}

I’ve told you before how lucky I am, right?

Yeah, I know it. I’m a really lucky girl. I work for myself, from home. I have gotten to keep my son with me everyday, instead of sending him to day care. I’ve gotten to travel, I’ve gotten to test out new products, I’ve gotten to represent some amazing brands. All thanks to this blog.

I count these blessings.

One such blessing is getting to work with Lowe’s Creative Ideas. As part of this incredible network, I’ve been challenged to reno a bathroom. My living room. My front yard. My front porch. And now, I tackled the backyard and garden.

I’m not sure how creative my projects were, but they are certainly making the outdoor space so much more enjoyable. So…what did we do?

Plants.

Lots of plants. And mulch. It’s amazing what a few well placed florals can do for an underloved space. It’s also impressive what fresh mulch can do. It’s kind of like painting the trim when you add mulch – everything looks finished and clean. Gotta love that.

As you can see, we have quite a garden. I’ve shown it to you before, so I limited the amount of photos this time so as not to overwhelm you. I focused on the pathway that meanders through the riased garden beds. I love this path. It leads past the grape arbor to the shed and our covered porch, where the Jenn-Air grill and porch swing hang. I can’t even tell you how much time we spend up there in the summer and fall…but it’s a LOT. We added a few liriope from Lowe’s to the pathway, and surrounded it with new mulch. It looks SO much better.

I also wanted to focus in on the stone staircase that leads from the back patio up into the yard. LOVE this bright red salvia we added to the area, and the dusty miller (those white plants) have gotten HUGE! Again, new mulch is tucked in around the new (and old) plants, tidying up the whole area. A few copper solar lights were added to the steps to light the way at night, and we called it done! Of all the places we’ve bought plants, Lowe’s has yet to let us down. The plants do so well! (or you know what? They’ll take them BACK!)

The Giveaway

Now, remember that grill I spoke of?

It was gross. Not clean at all. I didn’t take a picture of it, because it’s pretty embarrassing. Let’s just say – not pretty. Luckily, Lowe’s and the folks at P&G are psychic, and they sent a bucket full of outdoor cleaning supplies. Magic Erasers, grill cleaner, all kinds of goodies. If it wasn’t pitch black outside I’d show you the cleaned up grill. Trust me, it’s looking good now!

I don’t think too many of us realize that there are outdoor cleaning products. Or that we should use them. But now I know, and therefore, YOU know.

So how would you like to win some? No, I’m not coming to clean FOR you, but I can get you the products. Just let me know you want them!

  • pg-lowes-cleanDawn Grill Cleaner
  • Mr. Clean Outdoor Pro
  • Mr. Clean Magic Erasers

Nice, right? In case you don’t win them here, you can pick them up at Lowe’s. I can’t even tell you how great those Magic Erasers are. And, in case you were wondering, yes, a Magic Eraser WILL in fact take marker off your childs cheeks. But don’t do that. Ever.

You’ve been warned.

So now leave me a comment here, letting me know you want to win, and voila, you’ve been entered to win.
