Chocolate Covered Bacon Dulce de Leche Rum Shake

Did you read the title?  That’s a lot of words.  But how do you leave any of them out?

A Rum Shake.  But not as thick as a milkshake, just…creamy. Smooth.  Rich and delicious.  Vanilla ice cream blended with Captain Morgan’s White Rum, sweet Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, creamy dulce de leche…and bacon.

Yep…bacon.

You see, I was challenged by none other than The Captain to celebrate National Rum Day (August 16th!) with a concoction using some wild ingredients.  Licorice, potato chips, BBQ sauce, chocolate, bacon, pistachios…crazy, right?  So, being the bacon loving fiend I am, I went that route.

Tasty route, I tell you.  Bacon and Chocolate.

The bacon is only barely noticeable, save for the chocolate covered specimen I used as a garnish with a fun piece of chocolate bubblewrap, but it does add a neat flavor and a hint of salt in all that sweetness.  I was very pleased with the results…and I declare it a hit.

Just ask me.

It’s a hit.

Hopefully it’s a big enough winner to win over The Captain’s lackeys, as they are judging me, probably right this minute.  Yep…judging.  I can take it.  I know I’ve got the goods.

Wish me luck!

And in the meantime, give this boozy concoction a shot and let me know what you think!  (and yeah, I totally made that chocolate bubblewrap.  Wanna know how? Ask!)
