It’s not every day that Dunkin’ Donuts asks me to give one of their products a try. I mean, I WISH they did, but at the same time, I’m also a hermit, and having to drive a couple of miles EVERYDAY would mean PANTS EVERYDAY, and we all know that isn’t happening.
I mean, come on now. Pants? I blog for a reason, and that reason does involve the ability to choose to don pants.
They’ve got this fancy croissant sandwich on the menu now, and it’s a doozy. Egg, bacon, cheese, croissant. But what makes it special? The bacon is some kind of good- not too crispy, but subtly sweet, and pep pep peppery. I could eat a pan full of it if they’d ever allow that, so if you’re listening DD, sign me up for that experiment.
I’ll be honest, I almost said no to trying out this breakfast sandwich, though.
Why, you ask? Because breakfast. Breakfast. Breakfast means pants before noon, and like any good blogger, I like my day to start after 11. But wait…
Dunkin’ Donuts and their ever-expanding menu (it really is pretty darned smart) is available ALL DAY.
That I can do.
I love that breakfast can be eaten at any hour. Not everyone is on the same schedule, so I love that places like DD realize that and cater to the pantsless masses like me that just want an egg sammy when we want it.
But back to this particular sandwich, according to the brand, the Sweet Black Pepper Bacon Breakfast Sandwich is a unique combination of sweet and savory featuring egg, a slice of American cheese and four strips of bacon coated in a brown sugar and black pepper seasoning served on a croissant. The Sweet Black Pepper Bacon Breakfast Sandwich is also available as a Wake-Up Wrap®, with ½ egg, a slice of American cheese and two slices of the special seasoned bacon, served on a small flour tortilla. Both are available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide now through early 2017.
You do realize that’s in a few days. Don’t even ask me how THAT happened…I still haven’t set up Quickbooks from 2015. I guess I might as well scrap that idea for 2016 and decide that 2017 will have to do.
Maybe I can set it up while I engulf the gallons of coffee I’m sure to need from Dunkin’, and if I’m lucky, they’ll keep this croissant around long enough for me to enjoy it at the same time.
