Tuesdays With Dorie…Malted Whopper Drops

This week we have Rachel of Confessions of a Tangerine Tart to thank for her choice of
Chocolate Whopper Malted Drops. Cookies, cookies. SO many cookies. I could have skipped this week entirely, as I made these Whopper Drops weeks ago and could have just posted some pics that didn’t make the cut last time. But nooooooooo. Not me. I decided to play around a little and concoct some new fangled Whopper Drops. First up, Strawberry Milkshake Whopper Drops.

You’ve seen them in the candy aisle…those pretty pink boxes full of strawberry malted goodness. Well, I used them. I omitted the cocoa from the batter and added a bit more malted milk powder to make them more stable. I also added white chocolate chips and strawberry extract to the batter and some pink gel food coloring. Cute, huh?

So how’d they taste, you ask? Not bad. Have you ever had one of those “cake cookies” made with a cake mix? Sorta kinda tastes like that, except way more trouble and lots of extra dirty dishes. But cute.

Second up was Peanut Butter Whopper Drops. Just added a little scoop of peanut butter to the batter and used the PB Whoppers instead of the regular. I also added the chocolate/peanut butter Reese chips instead of regular chocolate chips. Everything else was the same as Dorie suggests.

How were these? Don’t ask. I don’t like peanut butter. (No I don’t know why I made them I just did, okay? I sent them in my GALS packages…so hopefully some brave soldier enjoyed them.)

Third – Straight From Dorie the Right Way. Except on a stick. Because everyone knows that eating cookies with one’s fingers is terribly difficult, and having a stick to hold makes it so much more user friendly.
