Stock Those Stuffings. Wait, Reverse That.

I went out this weekend to finish up my Christmas shopping.

Okay, to start my Christmas shopping.

They make it so easy in this day and age to wait until the last minute.  It’s ridiculous, really.  I remember a time when stores opened at 9 and closed at 5.  And the week before Christmas would maybe extend those hours by an extra hour.  Christmas Eve? No sir.  It’s a HOLIDAY.  You should have bought your presents already.  Now, thanks to the digital age, you can shop 24 hours a day, not pay tax and more than likely have a man dressed in brown drop off your purchase right at your doorstep.

It’s beautiful, I tell you.

But it isn’t just the internet. Oh, no.  Take Old Navy, for example.  They sell clothes there. Trendy little jackets with earphones built in, and hats for your dog, and Superman lunchboxes.  They will be opening on the 23rd at 7am, and NOT CLOSING until 7PM on Christmas Eve. That’s 36 hours of non-stop shopping, in person.  You know, just in case you are in need of a little something else to round out your shopping list.

Geez.

Well, I am all but done, so you won’t be seeing ME at Old Navy at 3:27am Christmas Eve, but, I am still on the hunt for some killer stocking stuffers.  Beyond the usual gum and toothbrushes and lotto tickets, here is a look at a few things I think would be just plain AWESOME in my someone’s stocking.

Here are some ideas that Don’t Require Shipping!! (Perfect, right?)

Like to read? Of course you do!  I adore getting magazines, and you can often get a year’s worth of magazines for what it costs you to buy a couple single copies in the store. Take Bon Appetit for example…One FULL YEAR for only $10.  Ten Bucks!  It’s the gift that keeps on giving, Clark.

Or how about Good Housekeeping? A year for under $8. WooHoo!

Or Better Homes & Gardens?  12 Issues for $5.99?? What a steal!

Okay, I won’t leave out the non-foodies.  Check this one out – 52 issues of Entertainment Weekly for $15. You’d pay that for 3! I may have to become re-addicted to celebrity lifestyles thanks to that price.

Know someone into music?  Rolling Stone is the way to go – 26 Issues for $19. Eeek!

Sports fan?  Sports Illustrated, 56 Issues for $38. Nice.

I hope this little post will help you out if you haven’t quite managed to finish your list.  because I tell you what, I don’t want to see you traipsing around the freaking Old Navy in your PJ’s come Thursday night.

I mean, not that I’ll be there.

Have a great week!
