Daring Bakers Challenge…Lavash Crackers
Goodness! Barely getting this post in on time! 3 posts in one day is too many for me. Like, two too many. But I. Am. A. Daring. Baker. And as a Daring Baker, I know the rules. Post on Post day or Off With Your Head. Shunned for life. Banished from all that is great and Daring. Or something like that.
So I was not too keen on making this months challenge. Lavash? Crackers? AND VEGAN?? First off, I don’t even eat crackers. To me it’s like a waste of calories, whether you call it something exotic or not. I don’t buy them. I don’t eat the free ones off the salad bar.
And Second, I am in no way, shape, or form a VEGAN. I can’t get in to that lifestyle.
No cheese? Huh? No MEAT? No milk? No nothing? What a sad sad way to live.
But that’s just me.
Pork Chops taste good.
Bacon tastes good.
I know, I know. And Sewer rat might taste like pumpkin pie…but you vegans wouldn’t know.
So whatever. To me that was the challenge. Make a cracker with absolutely nothing good on it. I went with garlic, poppy seeds, sesame seeds and dried oregano. I wanted to put cheese in it so bad…you have no idea. But it tasted pretty good without it.
We were to also make a Vegan Dip. Vegans ARE dips. (I probably shouldn’t have said that. At least not out loud.)
So I went with Garden Salsa. Tomatoes and peppers that were in the garden, still clinging to the vine. An onion that was still up there. Cilantro, parsley, oregano. Salt, pepper, vinegar, oil. Oh, and a little bit of a peach. That was kind of nice.
So here you are…
My most boring Daring Bakers Challenge to date. Good enough to eat, but I don’t eat crackers.
Go check out the other Daring Bakers…it will take a few days, as there are now thousands of us.
And way too many are vegan dips. I mean, vegans. So long for now…and fingers crossed NEXT month won’t be Vegan!
