In case you were unaware, tomorrow, April 5th, is National Caramel Day. I write about a few foodie holidays here on the blog, but, Caramel? Sweet, thick, creamy, gooey caramel? How can I NOT celebrate such incredible wonderment? Caramel is good, even when it’s bad. Rust and I had French Toast again this morning in Colmar, this time stuffed with cream cheese, caramel, and bananas, and topped with that mind boggling fleur de sel caramel we bought a few days ago at our favorite chocolatier. Was it good? Oh my, was it. We added a few blueberries, some whipped cream, and called it a morning. Okay, breakfast was once again at 1pm, but still, gahhhhh. Delicious.
