“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Mudderella. I received complimentary admission to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.” About one year ago, I started a new diet and exercise program. If you know me at all, you’ll know that giving […]
You read that right…Watermelon Jelly. This month, for my work with Dixie Crystals, I was tasked with a couple of different melon recipes..Cantaloupe Sorbet, Pickled Watermelon, and Watermelon Jelly. I love anything watermelon, it’s true. I’m a bit different though. While MANY people, and perhaps it is a southern thing, like salt on their watermelon, […]
I am about to admit to you something that makes me SAD. I have lived less than 2 hours away from Winston Salem, NC my entire life. Forever. For months and months, I made the 1 hour, 48 minute drive twice a week, down to my doctor, in hopes of getting pregnant, finally. Twice a […]
A couple of weeks ago, I attended my first Blogger Bash in New York City. I am a blogger. I go to conferences. I KNOW conferences. But Blogger Bash was such a uniquely different experience for me. Unlike the foodie conferences I am used to, Blogger Bash was full of toys and parties and dresses […]
That kind of sounds like a stutter, doesn’t it? Chocolate Mint Chocolate Ice Cream. Why the double Chocolate? Well, that’s because I have Chocolate Mint. Did you know there is such a thing? There is! It’s mint, it has a brownish tinge to the edges, and it smells and tastes vaguely of cocoa. Strangest thing, […]
Sometimes you just want to be a little fancy. I get that. I want to be fancy sometimes too. Instead of cupcakes, I’ll bake mini-cakes in fluted liners (still a cupcake, but so stylish); Instead of a big pie, I’ll make mini tarts and gussy them up. And instead of mousse in a bowl, I’ll […]
Last week I attended the Blogger Bash in New York City. As an AMBASSADOR. My first foray into the mom/lifestyle blogging event, and I was lucky enough to be chosen not only as a VIP, but as an AMBASSADOR. This roll came with lots of wonderful opportunities, some behind-the-scenes adventures, some great meals, some NEW […]
As parents, we all do things we give ourselves grief over. At least I THINK we all do. I know I do. Instead of feeling guilty about it, I’m joining the Sisterhood of Motherhood and celebrating #UniteMonday. Every Monday follow the hashtag #UniteMonday on Twitter and Facebook and share any of your rules you bent […]
I love blueberry muffins. I love french toast. What could be wrong with Blueberry Muffin French Toast? Nothing. I also love working with Krusteaz. It’s not work. It’s play. Delicious, tantalizing play. Take for example, a challenge they presented me with recently, to use their already scrumptious Wild Blueberry Muffin mix in a new and […]
This recipe name may have you thinking it’s going to be complicated. Having to make a sauce, and cook, and chop, and well, spend time in a kitchen. But that’s where you are wrong. This salad couldn’t be simpler, thanks to Al Fresco, a company that asked me if I’d like to test out a […]
I am pretty sure that waffles should be eaten for every meal, and not only every meal, but every section of a meal. Not just breakfast. Lunch, appetizers, main course, dessert. Heck, sandwich course. I love them, and they are SO adaptable. You can make them sweet or savory, whatever you prefer. Embrace the waffle. […]
I hate having to work over a holiday, don’t you? But here’s the thing…I cook as a JOB. And cooking is what people tend to do over the holidays, especially in the summer. So what to do? Cook? Not cook? Blog, not blog? Both. As an ambassador for Krusteaz, I get to try out all […]
