To say I am spoiled is an understatement…but here’s the thing – I KNOW it. I know I am spoiled, and therefore, I’m okay with it. I. Am. Spoiled. Not only did KitchenAid hook me up with an incredible suite of appliances (they’ve literally changed me life), but I also had help from Lowe’s for […]
One of the most successful posts here on Doughmesstic is for Jalapeno Poppers. Pinterest and StumbleUpon keep traffic rolling in here on a constant basis thanks to that post, and for very good reason – they are delicious. They are perfect as a party appetizer or as a tailgate staple – quite simply, it’s finger […]
I adore lemon meringue pie. Piles and piles of glorious white meringue, toasted to perfection, tangy yellow curd…it really doesn’t get much better. So, not wonder someone smart petitioned to make today Lemon Meringue Pie Day…I can’t blame them one bit. Unfortunately, I am a slacker, and due to a new cookbook (yes, really), a […]
A couple of years ago (okay, FOUR years ago), I was baking along with the Tuesdays With Dorie group. This was the summer I learned almost everything I know about baking – mainly – bake, and bake a LOT. It’s the only real way to learn. Before that summer, I barely cooked or baked anything […]
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Famous Footwear for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. Seven is about to start Kindergarten. I don’t know whether to be happy about that, or to sit in a corner and shake. On one hand, I imagine all the time I will have to […]
I’ll admit it…I love Arby’s. I do. Sign me up for a support group if you must, but I love their roast beef, their mozzarella sticks, their gooey cheddar. Can’t help it. Sadly, I rarely, if ever, get to go to Arby’s. Maybe twice a year. This is sad. But, the good new is that […]
Being landlocked has its merits – very few threats of a tsunami, waterspouts, or hurricanes. Sure, we do get a few hurricane hits every few years, but nothing like those beach-dwellers. So, that’s lucky, I guess. What’s UNLUCKY? No real seafood here. We can buy frozen seafoods, but, who knows how long it’s been sitting […]
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tom’s of Maine for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. I have this feeling you are on Facebook. So many of us are, especially blog readers. Don’t deny it…you are a blog reader. Helloooo – you are reading one now. I like that in […]
It’s rare that I talk about grilling and meat here. Sorry about that. I still consider grilling to be a man’s job. Very sexist of me, I know. It’s just the way I grew up. But, the secret is, men love to grill. And I love to eat. So, give the man some chicken, a […]
It isn’t every day Better Homes & Gardens asks you to do something. Today is MY day. I was chosen by BH&G to create the state SCENT, using their Scented Wax Warmers. Such a tough thing to do – there are so many different scents, and then combining them? Overwhelming. I even had trouble picking […]
I’ve told you before how lucky I am, right? Yeah, I know it. I’m a really lucky girl. I work for myself, from home. I have gotten to keep my son with me everyday, instead of sending him to day care. I’ve gotten to travel, I’ve gotten to test out new products, I’ve gotten to […]
Don’t judge…I am not a fan of S’mores. I know, I know. But let me tell you why. It’s the graham crackers. I can’t see eating a perfectly browned marshmallow and chocolate on a crunchy cracker. Messy. I don’t dig messy. I also don’t add crusts to my cheesecakes, for the record. If you’ve been […]
