Dinner In With Friends…
So much better than going out…and so much cheaper! Tonight we had our friends Doug, Rae and Ryane up for diner while Doug’s wife Rikki made cakes at the DQ (Father’s Day is busy!) It was a good time – Jon fired up the grill and made chicken wings and London Broil. Very tasty – he really like the red meat and I really like the chicken – so Win-Win situation! We served the meat with mac-n-cheese, peas and carrots, and a yummy fruit salad…followed by homemade Strawberry Kiwi Sorbet. This is my own recipe – if you want to give it a shot, go for it – it is so smoothe and tasty – the kiwi seeds add just enough crunch to make it delectable!
Strawberry Kiwi Sorbet
3 cups sliced fresh strawberries
3 sliced and peeled kiwi
1 lemon – juice and zest
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup water
Bring water and sugar to a boil, making sure all sugar is dissolved. In blender, puree fruit, juice and zest with cooled syrup. Freeze in automatic icecream machine.
How simple is that?? You’ll never have to run to the store again for sub-par ice cream!
