…the Greatest Earthquake Ever Known….
Oh Lord.
Who remembers this show??
Why have I had it on the brain for weeks?
My cousin and I used to come home every afternoon from school, when we were around 5, to our Mommaw’s house. She’d have some kind of dinner waiting on us (Potato Soup was especially good!) and we’d eat and take over her television. Back then, there were a total of 4 channels. NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS. That’s what we got. And on PBS, they would run a different Sid & Marty Krofft show everyday. The Bugaloos (try not to sing THAT theme song all day, I dare you.), Electra Woman, Lidsville, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters (oh, how I wanted a cave just like those seamonsters with all of the rock furniture!) and our favorite, Land of the Lost.
I LOVED the episodes when they would go to the room (a pylon, I think they called it?) that had that table with the crystals on it, move them around and wait to see what disaster they created by doing so. That show rocked. Even the Sleestaks. Remember that heavy breathing sound they made?? Ooooh. Scary.
I want Seven to get to watch shows like that. Imaginative, not overly done. But fun. I had no idea they were available on Netflix. Makes me want to join again! I think I will, just to get copies of these badboys…they have all three seasons! Woooot!
Okay, so there is link to Netflix. I just wanted to write about Land of the Lost. This is not an infomercial…although $4.99 for 2 movies a month – or even better – $8.99 for 1 at a time and unlimited movies online that you download – I’m sure some of you might like that!
Oh! While I was there at Netflix, checking out Land of the Lost – OMG. Will Ferrell is STARRING in a remake of it! I had no idea! It is supposed to be out in July.
That’s going to be one funny-ass movie, I bet.
