Homemade Frozen Fruit Pops
Seven loves popsicles. And according to Jon, rightly so. If I’ve heard the story of my pregnancy popsicle eating habits once, I’ve heard it a million times.
It was HOT, Jon. YOU try carrying around an entire person in your stomach in late July and August and see how hot YOU get.
Okay, let’s move on.
My favorite type of popsicles are the ones that are full of fruit, and easy to bite. You know, the softer kind that doesn’t crack and break when you bite it. They just seem healthier, and if you’re going to consume a boatload of popsicles, make sure they are full of fruit.
Like these.
We’ve been blessed with an abundance of fresh berries this summer, so it just seemed natural to make Fruit Pops out of some. There are a million ways to make popsicles, and pretty much no matter what you do, they will freeze and be successful. It’s so easy, and the little ones can help you out, which is a win-win situation!
For ours, we had this popsicle set from Wal-Mart that I picked up for $2. It makes 8 small pops, and does a really great job. As you can see, they come right out with little effort. All we did was blend about a cup of mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries and raspberries) and a couple of fresh peeled peaches. I added a quarter cup of sugar and about a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, plus a half cup of POM Lite Pomegranate Blackberry Juice. Then we just poured it into the pop maker and let it do it’s thing in the freezer.
They are delicious!
Throw some together with what you have on hand and cool off a bit in this hot summer weather…you’ll be glad you did!
