Today I am off on a little holiday vacation with Seven and Jon. We are headed back to Great Wolf Lodge near Charlotte, NC, for a couple of nights family time. I’m looking so forward to the Snowland experience (It’s going to snow in the lobby!), the writing letters to Santa, the indoor waterpark, and […]
You all know how much I love Dorie Greenspan, right? No denying it, she’s my baking idol. She drifts from Paris to New York and Connecticut as she desires (what a dream). She has a pop-up cookie business that sells out in a blink. She’s thoughtful, selfless, and just plain adorable. Maybe when I grow […]
Oh, sweet, sweet readers. You have been so kind to me, leaving me nice comments, reading everyday, tweeting and sharing my recipes. You don’t know how much that means to me. I wish I could reward each and every one of you. I also wish I could give all of you one of THESE beauties. […]
I don’t know why I procrastinate when it comes to making gingerbread cookies. I think I must forget from year to year that they are about the simplest dough to throw together, that they bake up in about 15 minutes, and that the clean up is basically one bowl. And yet, I procrastinate. Perhaps it’s […]
Think it’s time to announce a few winners? I do. So let’s do it! First up…the signed Dorie Greenspan Cookbook. Congratulations to DonnaB who said: “stumbled this post http://www.stumbleupon.com/stumbler/simplydab” Next up, the $100 Visa, courtesy of Naturipe goes to Roxana GreenGirl {A little bit of everything} who commented: “I just shared a recipe using raspberries. […]
I LOVE magazines. Do you? I always get giddy when the new Bon Appetit & Paula Deen magazines show up in the mailbox. I immediately flip through, looking for something I just HAVE to make. I usually can’t start right away though. I never have enough butter on hand to make something out of Paula’s […]
I’ve been searching the internet for the past week, looking for inspiration. Inspiration for gingerbread cookie decorating. It’s been a year since I’ve done ANY cookie decorating (has it been that long?) so, I want a little help in the idea department. First stop…Pinterest. Gotta be careful hanging around Pinterest for too long though, as […]
I had a fail on Tuesday in the kitchen. Huge, epic, expensive fail. So…no recipe for you today. But that’s okay, I’ll get back at it, because I need this recipe to be perfect for you. It’s gonna be a stunner. Until then, I wanted to take a trip down memory lane, bringing back a […]
Got your attention, did I? Bet I did. Now, just in case you are living in the Dark Ages and haven’t yet heard of Keurig, let me fill you in. Although I’m not sure how that could be possible, as here you are, reading my post on the internet, and surely you’ve ventured into at […]
Did you survive the Holidays? Eat too much? Shop too much? Get a face full of pepper spray while trying to secure a $2 waffle iron? (I already have a waffle iron, and I hope you do, too. Pepper spray sucks.) No matter…I hope you had a great long weekend full of friends and family, […]
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Avocados from Mexico. All opinions are 100% mine. Do your kids eat avocados? I can’t say they are the cutest fruit (yep, they are fruit!), but they ARE delicious and nutritious. We slice them onto sandwiches, burgers, into salads, and of course, guacamole…but there […]
Sorry for the lack of recipe today, friends, but I don’t think you’ll mind. You’re probably still hopped up on turkey, or comatose, or fighting the crowds at Best Buy. (That’s one line I did NOT stand in last night, by the way, despite my desire for an iPad. Insanity, I tell you – those […]
