I listed the key words to draw you in here. Nutella. Peanut Butter. Pretzels. The No Bake was thrown in to clue you in one the ease. Oh, it’s too easy. You’re gonna get fat from these bad boys. They are essentially a preacher cookie, but hello…they are made with a LOT of pretzels. Sweet. […]
We have now survived two week of Pre-School. It’s been so good for Seven, getting to interact with other kids his age (it’s usually just he and I, doing our own thing), and having an adult authority figure to answer to that isn’t related. He seems to be doing well, with only minor separation anxiety […]
Happy Thursday!! As I’ve shouted a few hundred times…It’s football season! I absolutely love this time of year – the cool nights, the crisp easy-to-breathe air, and…the football fare. Now, I could inundate you with the standard tailgating foods each week – you know – the salsa. The potato salad. The brownies and standard Jell-O […]
No, I’ve not lost my marbles. Well, not entirely, anyway. I’m just referring to the New Splenda® Essentials™ No Calorie Sweetener. I was asked to give it a shot, see what I think, and share my findings with you. Here’s what I was up against: Splenda Essentials with B vitamins. Splenda Essentials with antioxidants (provides […]
I’m lucky. My son Seven eats pretty much everything I put in front of him. He’s not terribly particular, and seems to enjoy whatever we make him. That being said, he IS a kid. Raw veggies aren’t his favorite..but, should I make sandwiches that turn fresh broccoli into Ferb’s hair, or carrots into a Phineas […]
Thank the Lord….College Football is back. I know that no matter what, I’ll have something to watch on Thursday night, and from 12 to 12 on Saturdays at the very least. Hopefully more. I’ll also have lots of delicious experiments in the kitchen, preparing different things for various game days. I have quite a few […]
Go ahead, shoot me for what I am about to say. I am not a huge fan of fried chicken. Sorry. Okay, I like it, I do. But I don’t want to make it. It’s messy, takes too long, dirties about 700 dishes, and I’m left wiping oily splashes off my backsplash, floor, child and […]
Update: Winner has been emailed! Thanks everyone for entering, and stay tuned for future giveaways…there are plenty coming!! Here we are, approaching the last “Official” weekend of summer vacation. Note: I did not say SUMMER, I said Summer Vacation. Big difference. End of summer means Fall leaves, crisp air, pumpkins and campfires. End of summer […]
Sometimes you just want dessert to be easy. Uncomplicated. Something you can throw together quickly…but not skimp on looks OR flavor. This trifle is going to be right up your alley. I was recently approached by Donsuemor, quite honestly, a company I had never before heard of, asking if I would be interested in pulling […]
I really have a hard time grasping it. Four. Next week he starts Pre-School. He’s potty trained. He can dress himself. Feed himself. Make his own toast and sandwiches. He can write most of the alphabet. He could teach a class on mastering the dynamics of the iPhone. But this is what he looked like […]
Phineas and Ferb have become members of my family, I believe. Somehow (don’t ask me, I just live here), those two clever boys and their pet Platypus Perry have pretty much gained control of our television over the summer…which makes perfect sense, according to the theme of the show. Seven loves watching, and I have […]
I love No-Bake Cookies. Except I don’t call them No-Bake, I call them Preacher Cookies, because, well, that’s just what we Southern girls call them. Preacher Cookies. Your typical Preacher Cookie is cocoa, peanut butter and oats. And while that is incredibly good, and hits the spot in under 5 minutes, one can possibly grow […]
