Thank the Lord….College Football is back. I know that no matter what, I’ll have something to watch on Thursday night, and from 12 to 12 on Saturdays at the very least. Hopefully more.
I’ll also have lots of delicious experiments in the kitchen, preparing different things for various game days. I have quite a few ideas that I can’t wait to share with you, but before I do, I want to offer you a couple of really great things.
One – here are some of my favorite tailgate recipes from seasons past. There are a lot of goodies in this mix, and I hope you’ll find a couple that you want to try. Everyone loves easy finger foods.
- Barbeque Biscuits with Tart Apple Slaw
- Peach Bourbon BBQ Chicken Kabobs
- Sweet Potato Chili
- Bacon & Shrimp Avocado Pockets (This recipe won me a trip to the Rose Bowl!!)
- Pork and Apple Pico Tacos
- Bacon Wrapped Cream Cheese Jalapeno Bites
And Two – you see that chili up there? Wouldn’t you like to have a nice 9 Quart Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven to prepare it in? Maybe even in the latest color, Fennel?
Liar, liar, pants on fire. I know you want it. I mean, how could you not? It’s Le Creuset, for goodness sake, world renowned, lasts a lifetime, and cooks like a dream. Stovetop to Oven and back. Browns. Simmers. Stews. Cleans up fantastically. It’s a heritage piece, one that you’ll be able to pass down from generation to generation (as they pry it from your cold dead fingers, that is, unless you opt to be buried with it, and of course, that’s not an altogether bad idea.) Plus, it’s valued at over $400. This is not your average giveaway!!
Le Creuset is one of my most valued and treasured kitchen possessions, and the wonderful folks there have offered me one of these 9 quart bad boys to give to one of YOU. Color of your choice, as long as you have a US Address.
So how to win? Tell me, which color of Le Creuset is your favorite? Is it the new fennel? Caribbean? Powder Pink? Visit the Le Creuset website and browse. It’s fun! I’m not asking you to pick your favorite color in the 9 quart, but in their entire collection…which is YOUR favorite? Mine’s Caribbean, I think…but this fennel is so beautiful, it’s a very close second. Speaking of second…
For a second entry, please Follow ME (@doughmesstic) on Twitter, and give a shout out to your friends about this recipe and giveaway. Be sure to return here and leave a separate comment. It’s true…the more people who comment and know about the giveaways I do, the more great giveaways I GET to do. So please, Share the post with your Twitter friends, share it on StumbleUpon, or Pinterest, or word of mouth will work too. Plus, I really appreciate it, and hopefully that means something as well.
.For a third entry, I would LOVE to have you as a Facebook Fan. I think it’s a great way for us to stay in touch, I get to hear from you about questions you may have, thoughts you have on my recipes, and we can share each other’s links. If you already LIKE me, just leave the comment…but no cheating! I will be verifying if you really are a fan, and man would it suck if your comment was chosen, only to find out your fibbed? Don’t let that happen to YOU!
Giveaway is open to US Addresses, and all entries must be posted by 11:59pm on Friday, September 15th. Good LUCK!

Holy Moly Me Oh My!!! I have been dreaming of my very own Le Creuset of my own for awhile. I was able to talk my husband into a pretty pistachio Kitchen Aid which took 4 years of marriage and persuasion. He isn’t going for this one though. I love love love the fennel, the caribean is a close second.

I am a huge fan of all the things Caribbean. I’m on a teal and brown kick as of late. I could love one of their cast iron grill pans though. That’s another thing I do not have.
