Life, and Kicking Off June with Krusteaz

Kicking off June?

Gahhh…it’s June.  How can that be?  It was JUST January.  I absolutely know it was.  In fact, I think I still have some things tucked into my travel bag from my birthday trip.  So certainly, it can NOT be 5 months later.

And yet…it is.

A lot has actually happened since winter, and life has kept me incredibly busy.  Both workwise and life-wise.  I’ve been all over the country since then, from Florida to Houston to Vegas and Phoenix, Georgia and places in between.  I’ve hardly had time to breathe!  Because of that, and for various other reasons…I have felt my blog kind of slipping away from me.

That’s scary, you guys.

I started this blog to document my life.  My life in the kitchen, with a husband and a growing baby.  I started it by writing.  By engaging.  By sharing personal stories with you, by showcasing my successes (and failures) as a cook and as a mom.  Many of you have been with me since the very beginning.  You’ve followed along as I clawed my way up, and you’ve held my hand (virtually) as I struggled to stay out of the muck.  It’s been so rewarding for me to have this site, and so to feel it slip away from me scares me.

So…last month I decided I was going to take it back.

I am going to tell stories again.  I’m going to share real life.  Yes, I am still going to post recipes, both easy and hard, and hopefully, you’ll be inspired to make a few of them yourself.  That’s what I love – hearing about YOU making something of MINE.  You can’t imagine how that feels unless you are a blogger as well.  It’s like we’ve bridged some gap that closes in the miles between us, and we are friends, hanging out in the kitchen.

Maybe I’m way out there.  Maybe.  But it’s the way I feel.

But back to taking it all back.

In a slumberish fit one evening a few weeks ago, I got the bright idea to write a post a day in June.

30 posts. That’s about 20 more than usual. I’m not sure I am thinking clearly, but…

Today I am going to give it a go, and I hope you will stick around.

I am going to keep June 1st simple, and make a fun announcement.

Last year I was thrilled when Krusteaz asked me to join a team of ambassadors to use their mixes in new and different ways.  I adore Krusteaz, because they don’t do average.  They just don’t.  Every mix is unique and different than others you can find in the store, they are top quality, and they really just make you a rockstar without modifying anything at all.

So up my alley.

But…whaaa whaaa, my contract with them ended a couple of months ago.

Sad day.

However, I am so excited to report that I have just signed on to be a part of their Bakers Dozen for another year!  What does that mean?  It means lots more great recipes coming out of my kitchen, a lot more experimenting with their products, another trip to their headquarters in September, and most importantly, being a part of a truly FUN team of bloggers that really love what they do.

I LOVE what I DO.

And this month, I am going to get back to doing it.

Every. Day.

Stick with me, folks.  You are the reason I am here.

Disclaimer:  As mentioned, I am an ambassador for Krusteaz.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
