My Kitchen, My World…Home!
For me, that’s the US. Obviously. Have you read the way I talk?!
So why have our home country as this week’s Challenge? Well, we are still on Olympic time, and what better way to show our support than to put a picture of Michael Phelps on our cooking blogs? Umm, I mean, than to cook something from our native land?
Have you been watching the Olympics? How can anyone not be blown away with Phelps? Personally, I don’t watch swimming. I don’t keep up with it. But it is one of the events I look forward to when it comes around every four years during the Olympic games…and this year the added bonus has been watching Michael burn the pool UP. During our American Burger eating last night, he did it again. His 7th Gold this Olympics – and one left to go. Good luck Michael!
So, American Food. Being a country so diversified, this was a bit challenging. Plus, we tend to claim things as our own. But I chose the classic Hamburger. Probably not rooted in America, but we sure did take it and run with it. Jon grilled us up some big 1/2 pound burgers, added cheese, lettuces, tomato…all the fixin’s. And fries. (See how I omitted the word French?)
I won’t bore the world with a recipe. He added a cabinet full of seasonings to the meat is really all I can tell you.
Oh, and guess what? I have been to America…but I won’t make you look at the photos of that.
Next week – Jamaica. Jah-May-Kah! Yay! Now go see how many other MKMWers put pics of Micheal on their page. Um, go see what they cooked. We aren’t all from the US….but we may all have droolfest Phelps photos.
