A Little R&R…I need it.
For the past couple of days I have been working like a crazy person trying to get things in order for the Christmas Craft Fair. My Mom and I made hamemade candies and cookies, and put them into gift baskets to sell. We did pretty well! We actually sold out of everything we made…we never expected that! So now I have a little bit of pocket money to maybe buy a present or two for Christmas. We have decided that Jon and I will not really do anything for each other, since we are going to italy. It’s better that way – we can just focus on Seven and we’ll better off financially when it comes time to be abroad.
I did spend a little of my money today though. There is a girl at the Fair that makes boiled wool hats. I bought one last year and love it – and this year she had one I think i may have to be buried in! $25. It must takes her hours to make, so I am not sure how she can sell it so cheap. I’ll take a pic one day so you can see it…too cute. She makes custom ones, too…I’d be happy to pass along her info to anyone interested. She doesn’t do Etsy (why not??) just a stay-at-home-mom making a little extra cash. But wait until you see this hat. Just wait!
Okay, the R&R. Tomorrow I am headed to Raleigh to visit my friends…without Seven. (Ouch, it kind of hurt my heart a little to type that.) Jon’s Mom has decided to come down and stay with him while I am gone. I will miss him like crazy, but in another way, I know the time away will be good. I have been pent up here for weeks with nothing but baking and catering and more baking…so I need a day or two away. I am too excited to see Nicole, too – 35 weeks pregnant! I feel like I missed the whole thing – her pregnancy. I hate that they live so far away. I probably beg her to move back more than I should…I know they have a good life there with lots of opportunity. More than here. But being poor is okay, too. Move back, kids, and we’ll all be poor together again. Just like at Gloucester. Except with more babies.
