The Eyes Have It
So, it’s Friday.
I said I would post my eye experiment by today, and I am here to do just that. I am still using the iPhone to take pics, so, forgive the quality. But I just don’t want to try to figure out the whole expensive camera self timer feature. I don’t think it matters too much the quality – it’s the experience.
And I want to say, I am seeing a bit of change here already. Already.
You see, I set out to do my eyes. But, in doing my eyes, I felt the rest of my face needed a little boost, too. So, I did my typical makeup routine, just a little more care. And I curled my hair, as if I have a special place to go…which I kind of do, but I hardly count a restaurant lunch as something super special. (Okay, yes, I do. I lied. Anytime I get to go somewhere and do something other than bake a cake or wipe a butt, that’s pretty darned special.) SO, not only did my eyes get little makeover, my attitude, my face, my outfit – all played a part. And it makes me FEEL better. Like, less slobby. Less – well, less Mommy Pajama and more…something else. I don’t know the right word for it.
So, my eyes. Hard to tell here, but I used a shimmery pale teal on both my upper lids and just below my lash line as well. I NEVER wear color on my eyes. Ever. Brown, ivory – okay. But no color. Believe it or not, I think it makes my eyes a little more POP. As an art major in college, I would have thought otherwise. My eyes, naturally, are kind of gray/blue. I was always taught that browns brought out blue eyes. This teal does it moreso. I’m not going to try to figure it all out today – just making an observation.
I’ve seen that a few of you are playing along with me, posting on your own websites. I hope you will also post a link here on this post as well…and get that sweet shot out there on Facebook, too. I guarantee someone, somewhere, is going to notice. They may not say anything, but they WILL notice. And what if it’s another Mom, a Mom feeling the same funk as we are – and you inspire her?
You can be someone else’s inspiration – their motivation for feeling good again.
You were certainly responsible, in so many ways, mine.
See you here in a few days for the next challenge. Have a GREAT weekend, and keep on keeping on.
PS – Hell, yes, I am wearing clothes. I wouldn’t do that to you!! 🙂
