National Moscato Day with Gallo Family Vineyards
I love food and beverage holidays. You probably realized that, as I celebrate many of them here on the blog throughout the year. Blueberry Pie Day, National Cheesecake Day, Bloody Mary Day…and now, for the first year ever – National Moscato Day!
Are you a wine drinker? Have you tried Moscato?
The Gallo Family Vineyards love their Moscato so much that they are petitioning to have May 9th be the official celebration day of all Moscatos. I have to agree…it IS some kind of delicious. Cool, straight from a deep chill? It’s fresh, fruity, sweet…and easy to drink, which is what I like the most. It goes great with a plate of spicy pasta, or equally well with dessert. It pairs well with just about any cheese, too, so – set out a plate of brie, a handful of salty crackers, a few grapes, and pour yourself a glass. You won’t be disappointed.
At only around $5 per bottle (yes, really – not a typo), it’s the perfect price, at least here in my house. We like a great value. I’ll be honest, I am not much of a wine connoisseur. To me, I don’t care what it costs. If it tastes good, then it’s good wine. I couldn’t tell you a good vintage, anything about a bouquet, or what kind of notes a wine has…I just want it to taste good. What kind of notes it has? I have a Pandora for all the notes I need.
Whatever. This wine tastes GOOD.
If you are out on Wednesday, pick up a bottle, and then swing by Twitter at 9pm EST to join me and some other great bloggers for #gno, where we will be tweeting away with @GalloFamily to celebrate National #MoscatoDay. You should come by!

Hope to see you Wednesday night at 9!
