Getting My Name Out There

I’ve had my blog for 3 years now. So, I’m not new to the game, but I’m no old pro either. I’m lucky…I do make money here, with sponsored opportunities and advertising, and I have a kitchen full of great cookware, appliances, and foods that aren’t even on the market yet. I love being a food blogger, and I love the connections I’ve made with other bloggers.

I’m also lucky that my site has turned into a real job for me. You see, four years ago, I couldn’t bake my way out of a paper bag. Now? I own a cake business. I stay booked up with weddings and special events, and I LOVE being able to create. It’s fun to be able to share my work and designs with like minded people, and get instant feedback. I never get tired of it!

So…I owe my blog.

You read that right. I owe my blog. If not for it, I may be working outside of my home for less money, and not be able to keep Seven here with me, which I really enjoy. I honestly don’t know how families with two working parents do it…the running, the picking up from pre-school, the appointments, the sick days. I guess it’s all in what you get used to, but I consider myself really lucky.

And to thank my blog, I now have THIS:

I’ve had the plates for a while now, but a few weeks ago I was approached by Build-A-Sign, an online sign company to do a review. They asked me to pick something out on their site…and while there were a ton of things, from jar labels to magnets to complete car wraps, I got the bright idea to promote my little blog. It’s an 18 x 30 window decal, applied to my back glass. It wasn’t easy to install – and if I had it to do over I’d hire a pro to handle a sticker that size. But, it looks great, and I am thrilled with the results, thanks to Jon’s help.

Isn’t it cool? And doesn’t it look expensive? Believe it or not, it was under $20. I designed it quickly in Photoshop, then uploaded it to their design site in under 10 minutes. So why not promote your website? You work your blog, you invest hours and love into it, why not let the locals in your area know about it?

If you have any questions, please let me know…but I think you’ll find it an easy process! Send me pictures once you do it, okay?
