A New Way to Organize Online…and a $100 Amazon Giveaway

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of dio for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am not the most organized person. One look around my house and you’ll figure that out. I have multiple computers, iPads, too many cell phones, notebooks (like, the kind you actually write in) and then message boards.

I’m not sure how I best keep track. So I keep track just about everywhere.

However, when it comes to traveling, I am pretty darned organized. I like to SAY, oh, sure! Let’s just head out on vacation with no real plans and see what happens.

But that lasts about 37 seconds. Because you see, I don’t want to miss a single thing.

Nor do I want to pay too much money, as I am a money hoarder.

So, I research until I am blue in the face, looking at hotels, restaurants, things to do, roadside stands to stop at along the way…you know, OCD kinds of things.

Now there is a place online that will keep track of this kind of research as I do it, with a few clicks and some cutting and pasting. So cool.

It’s called dio.

It’s kind of like a pin board, but it’s made of up of “Places” – and each place is filled with all the “Rooms” you need. Each room can then be filled with pictures, or videos, links, you name it – just fill the room with the things you want to know and keep track of.

Let’s say you are heading to NYC for the weekend, but you haven’t made all of your plans yet.

Create the Place – New York City Weekend.

Then start making Rooms – starting with Transportation.

In the Transportation Room, you can link to Amtrak, or US Air, or Delta, or GasBuddy, keeping track of what the different fares are, the pros and cons to each method, etc.

Same goes for HOTELS. Create a Hotels Room, with links and pricing to all of the hotels that seem to fit the bill. Restaurants would be a great Room, as would Attractions, Broadway, even Free Things to Do. The sky’s the limit!

I’ve been playing around with Dio and making a digital scrapbook, if you will, of the things I did in Baltimore last weekend. It’s still a work in progress, but I will keep filling it up with more and more things as I return and do more. It’s a fun way to be able to remember the trip, plus, a really easy way to share it with friends and family. My user name on the Dio site is doughmesstic – you should follow along and we’ll share! (I promise, I won’t stalk you. Much.)

You should give it a try!

Of course, you could create Recipe PLACE. Fill it up like a digital cookbook for easy reference…just cut and paste links to the recipes you find online or your own recipes that you type out.

Or – how about a scrapbook of your kids school year?

Or a scrapbook of your family tree? That could be cool – and let all of the family members make their own room? Fun!
