Change is in the Air

Well, not just in the air, but in my kitchen.

You’re talking to a girl who considers a kitchen remodel to be three new hand towels, so bear that in mind when you read what I am about to tell you.

We are about to redo our entire kitchen.

Appliances. Countertops. Moving existing cabinets.

I can’t leave the graphing paper alone. I’ve designed, I’ve redesigned.  I’ve harassed Lowe’s Home Improvement.  I’ve made the kitchen girl there cry.  I’ve learned more about staggering the heights and depths of cabinets than you’ll ever care to know.

And I’ve fret over countertops.

So many choices! Quartz. Granite. Solid Surface.  I currently have Formica.  While it’s not bad looking, it’s not going to work in this newer Food Blogger Dream Kitchen.  I need good looking AND durable.  I need something I can roll fondant out on. Something I can knead dough on.  Something that will look fab in all of my blog posts, right?

Right.

I’ve pretty much narrowed my choices down to Caesarstone.

Have you heard of it?  It’s incredible.  I think they might have elves or genies employed there.  Take a look at what they can do!

Personally, I am having a heck of a time even choosing a color.  Our cabinetry is a honey/light maple, kind of craftsman style.  The flooring is the same color.  Our backsplash is also light – it’s stone in neutral shades, with a few greenish colored glass tiles mixed in.  Our appliances? They’ll be stainless.  So – we are thinking going a little darker, to contrast and make a real statement.

Here are my favorites…what do YOU think?

This one is called Maharaja.  It’s from the new Caesarstone Collection, called Supremo.  The one beside it is also a huge contender from the same Supremo Collection – it’s Queen of Sheba.  I love the depth of it!  I’ve included a little bit of info about the collection towards the end of this post – since it’s just been released in the past couple of weeks, there is a lot of new info to share!

This one, on the left,  is called Belgian Moon. It’s pretty dark, but so pretty!  And on the right is one of my favorites, called Late Autumn.  I’m in love with all the variations in it.  It’s probably my favorite at this point, but don’t let that sway you!

Now, if I were a brave soul, or lived in an awesome NYC or Chicago loft (that was always a dream of mine) – this new pattern would be MINE.  White Crocodile from the Motivo Collection.  They’ve only JUST released it, and you’re probably seeing it HERE FIRST!

Caesarstone countertops are blended at a ratio of up to 93% natural quartz aggregates with pigments and polymer resins and are manufactured through a highly automated, yet strictly monitored process.  Don’t ask me how they make the crocodile…I’m pretty sure it’s magic.

I also know they are the ONLY ones who do it.

Here’s a little more info on the new Supremo Collection I told you about, direct from their press release in mid-January…

Mirroring nature’s endless diversity, each of the exceptionally designed
Caesarstone Supremo premium surfaces has its very own spectacular flow of
color and pattern. This patented new technology is unique only to Caesarstone.
With its natural look and feel, no two Supremo surfaces are alike. With a range
of eight colors with names inspired by aristocracy and fantasy worlds each color
carries meaning and beauty. From Swan Lake, a shimmering cream pattern
which is both classic and refined; to Queen of Sheba a black surface with
rich texture and subtle veining, Supremo’s palette of colors is sure to please.
Translucent Supremo surfaces can be backlit creating a soft luxurious ambiance.

This new addition to the Caesarstone family of colors and collections gives
endless options complementing any design. From Caesarstone Classico, a
collection chocked full of fan favorites from Blizzard to Concrete; to Caesarstone
Motivo, the brands line of edgy patterns derived from a patented polishing
process to create lace and crocodile; and Caesarstone Concetto, a high end line
of semi-precious stone surfaces that are truly works of art; Supremo is in good
company.

Now – HELP me decide!  Which ones do you like?  I really just can’t choose.

Handtowels are next.  That is, if I can decide.
