The Tournament of Roses…Let’s all go!
I’ve said it before and I will say it again…blogging has changed my life. Mostly for the better. In fact, other than being thrust into the public more than I am used to or even comfortable with (people scare me), everything about blogging has made my life better.
Like this.
I am headed to the Tournament of Roses a few days after Christmas.
Not just to go, but to be a big part of it.
I get to help decorate the Dole float that will make its way into the parade in Pasadena.
To say I am excited is an understatement. I will get to DECORATE A FLOAT IN THE ROSE PARADE. I mean, wow. Just, wow.
A few years ago I won a trip to Pasadena to attend the Rose Bowl and Rose Parade (this picture is from that trip) – and man, was it ever an amazing time. But to be a part of it – I just can’t explain how much this means to me.
I have been working with the Dole company for a few years now, from attending their Summits and learning about the products first hand, to hosting private events for them, to writing posts, to doing the social media for the World Food Championships, and even stepping in as a sous chef in the Dole California CookOff.
Dole treats me well, and I like to hope it is because they think I treat them equally well. I’ve made so many great friends there, and I always look forward to getting to see them at Dole events. I’m truly a very lucky woman.
So why am I here, rubbing it in that I am headed to Pasadena?

The grand prize winner, plus their three guests, will celebrate their victory with a four night trip to Los Angeles – from December 30, 2013 to January 2, 2014 – to see the DOLE float in the 2014 Rose Parade on New Year’s Day in beautiful Pasadena, California. The winner and their guests will also receive four tickets to the 2014 Rose Bowl to watch two of the best college football teams fight to become the 2014 Rose Bowl Champion.
The sweepstakes runs till December 5, 2013.
